In 2021, Trevor Dare piloted Jerseys Baby Driver to the Open Level 4 Championship of the 6666 Ranch NRHA Derby presented by Markel.
We caught up with the NRHA Professional, who lives in Purcell, Okla., to ask a very important question.
What would you pick if we said you could only choose two bridles to use for the rest of your life?
“That would be just a plain-Jane correction bit, and a solid bridle that Todd Crawford bought for me that has become something I use pretty often. Nothing too fancy,” Dare shared.
According to Dare, the correction bit he likes is made by Kerry Kelly, while the solid bridle he likes is made by Rod Teuscher.
Dare added that the two bridles are very different from each other.
“It’s from one end of the spectrum to the other. The correction has got a lot of give, a lot of wiggle and move. It’s good for training and teaching one,” he explained. “The solid bridle is all solid, so it’s better for kind of finishing one … the finishing touches.”
