My favorite memory at NRBC was last year finding out I made the finals in the Non Pro Derby, as it was my first one. NRBC is by far my favorite show because the environment is so friendly and home-like.

I’ve gone to the NRBC about 6 times and my favorite memory is probably making the level 4 finals last year on RosesWhiz, and the same year, I won the Curtis Burlin Memorial Perpetual Award High-Scoring Youth trophy on Coded N Karma as well. Also, the draw party a few years ago was awesome and super neat to talk to everybody and to meet new people who have the same love for the sport of reining as I do.

My favorite memory was when I took the lead in the finals with Chicsdreamofdiamonds. I walked out of the gate, and my family was all waiting there to celebrate. It’s a great facility with great ground and great people. One of my favorite shows of the year.

My favorite memory would have to be the very first NRBC they ever held at the Lazy E. It was my first horse show in the United States. I had a little gelding that I brought over from the Netherlands. I just remember coming out of that huge arena, and I was so intimidated because all the people I had seen in magazines and on VHS tapes were there. I just got my horse ready and warmed up, and I ended up running and stopping my horse in the middle of the warm-up pen because it was longer than any arena I had ever shown in. So, it was a unique experience for me. I ended up making the limited open finals. It was a great time.

My favorite NRBC memory is the year that I made the level 4 finals on Wallawalla Bangbang. I marked a 222.5 in the go-round. I love the NRBC because there is so much to do, great restaurants to go to for supper, and the weather is typically nice other than it can rain a lot.

I’ve been coming to the NRBC for a long time, so I have a lot of favorite memories: the year that Oded Fein’s horse, Modern Gun, won the NRBC was a special time. There was when Not Ruf At All won for Vaughn Zimmerman. When Dell Hendricks won, that was probably about the fourth time for him. Watching when Sarah Locker won, and Mandy McCutcheon. There were so many, it’s hard to pick just one, but I think the most pertinent was the look on Ann Admonius’s face when she was presented with the Non Pro Commitment Award. Knowing Ann as well as I do, I’ve never seen her brought to tears like that before. I know that was a special time in her life, and I was proud to be a part of it.
